A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Female
5 Posts

I am 44 years old and was diagnosed with breast cancer on June 2, 2009.  I am scheduled for surgery on July 15, 2009.  The surgeon is recommending a lumpectomy with radiation treatments after surgery.  That is if all is well during the surgery (such as the lymph nodes are negative)  He is going to biopsy the lymph nodes during the surgery.
The cancer is in my left breast and the size is 1.3cm (half an inch)  Yes, I am afraid but I am trying to stay positive.  The scary part is if it has spread and if it will return in the future.  Found out lymph nodes were negative, surgeon removed 4 of them.

I found it just as much trauma to start as it was to finish. Cancer changes us, but we fight and try to get back to some normalcy. Just hang in there hun and keep talking to us. I don't know we can get crazy sometime, we have to laugh to keep from crying. So glad your hair is coming back, that is so hard, I lost mine twice. Tomorrow I am going in for my 3rd haircut. You are gonna be OK.

Well congratulations honey for finishing your treatments. After all you have been through the hysterectomy won't be so bad. So good to see you back.
