A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Hi, I am 47 years old, married to a wonderful man, no children, two dogs that are like our kids, a career woman, and I have breast cancer. I am scared and angry, bewildered and wondering what now?

Mom is a survivor of breast cancer, sister has an inverted nipple, that her doctor and her are choosing to "just watch", niece has a lump growing on the vein in her breast and her doctor s watching as well, due to where it is located.

Found lump in mamogram, no real surprise or fear at this point, as I have cystic breast, sent for a diagnostic sonogram. Found something "suspicious" as my doctor called it - sent me to a surgeon, he too -said he did not like the looks of it and wanted to take the lump out instead of needle biopsy, still no real fear yet, just get it out was my take on it.

Had a lumpectomy 4/3/09

I was diagnosed 4/9/09 with stage 0 DCIS

Had MRI 4/17/09 to see if I had it in both breasts

Test results came back conclusive, there is a "suspicious" lump in left breast as well, wanted to do yet another lumpectomy - then I put the skids on......

Why am I going to keep taking more lumps and more tissue each time, I want these disease infected breasts, that have a very good potential to kill me one day, off.
