    Ok first of all, they can not fire you for going on LTD, that is illegal. Yes you will need a labor lawyer to work this. If they told you literally you will be fired if you go on LTD, you have a case.     Do speak to a lawyer. My job was threating to fire me cause was out alot cause of my cancer. Since then they laid me off but could not do anything cause they laid off other people to cover there ass.You need a llawyer who specialize in work related stuff. If in NY I can give you a # of a lawyer. I do not think they can fire you for use what they offer...
