    Found a large lump ( well to me it was huge) on the underside of my left breast. Had the usual Dr. exam the the mamogram and sonogram, and now they have sent me to a general surgeon. My concearn is with this word biopsy, and the different kinds. Isn't it the bottom line the whole lump needs to be removed regardless if it is cancerous or not?? So...

    Hi Just wanted to say that I had a similar incident where I was sorta tender under my left arm pit and I felt a small lump or something. I went to see my regular ob/gyn and he said he felt what I was describing but didnt think there was any worries , however he scheduled me for another mamogram. It was neg. But wanted me to talk to surgeon as well....

  • Got Biopsy Results and discussed with Dr today
    Biopsy result of lymph nodes. Took 2 nodes from each arm pit, one of which was the sentinel node. Results - nodes under right arm are perfectly clean. Nodes under left arm (the side that had DCIS) had one affected node. This is called Node 0.     I have a nodule that has been watched and has grown 20% since last mammo and is also more dense on this mammo.Also now there is an adjacent 2mm size nodule in the same location as the old nodule. Thats in my left breast.I also have increasing microcalcifications in my right breast with some areas of layering. I don't know if layering is a bad thing...
