I just finished 12 months of herceptin. Side effects are achey joints, weak nails ,weight gain. Been finished since March 5 2009 and achey joints are easing up. Nails are slowly getting stronger. Oh ya, runny nose was also side effect, but it is gone. Weight is slowly falling off and that is that. Now I feel like myself and that is GOOD.

That is great Carol, you are really on your way back, so good to hear some positive news. Are you now done with everything? It sounds like it. Thanks for your input, a lot of the ladies have questions on that drug. Take care.

Weight gain. Great. For the 2 years before I was diagnosed with cancer, I worked really hard and lost 87 pounds. Since I was diagnosed in January I have gained 20 pounds. That was my fault, because the doc said I couldn't stay on my diet. So given permission to eat, I went a little overboard. I'm getting back my control, but now Herceptin is gonna make me gain weight. Wonderful.
