Total Hysterectomy and removal of ovaries

  •

I was just wondering if there were any young women (30-40's) who have under gone a total hysterectomy/ovary removal. I've had Polycystic Ovaries all of my adult life and have been miserable but wondering if I would be more miserable if I had them removed. Any suggestions, experiences, advice?

    Thanks,

Hi Jenster, I had a total hysterectomy at 35 due to cervical cancer and I'm now 39 and batteling breast cancer. The first time around I was lucky and did not need radiation or chemo, it was totally contained, not so lucky with the breast cancer, I completed radiation, partial radiation, it was not fun at all! I have my 2nd chemo this Wed. my hair began falling out on my sond 18th bday last monday Dec 29th, it is so hard watching my long highlighted blond hair go from long and full to earlobe length and very thin! As far as your hysterectomy, i think you made the right choice, i have had no problems, I was planning on having another baby until that happened. In the long run I think you did what was best, You wont be miserable anymore, how long ago did you have it done? I remember recovery was hard! But it gets way better, and if you gained any weight, don't worry you will lose it, don't listen to all the horror stories!! How are you feeling now? Kari
