The Sunshine in my life

  •

My little Alison is the sunshine in my life.  She's 3 yr. old now.  I met her mom just after she was born, a young mother of two in destprate need of a mom.  I took the job and have never regretted it for a minute.  I have no biological grans so these two adoted are my world.

On Saturday Ali came for a visit.  I was sitting in my room bold head an all.  After sumthering me with kisses she noticed my wig on the dresser.  She turned to me an said "See Nani you don't have to be sad,  You have hair."

Later that day she insited I had to go out side an see the beautiful sun.  We took a slow walk around the yard and when she noticed I was tired she announce Nap TIme!  For me not her.  I got in the bed, she put on childrens music and kissed me good bye. What I didn't knw is she left my room and marched upstairs to my 24 yr old and shacking her little finger at him announced "You need to take care of my Nani!  Guess she told him!

Two days later she was working in the garden with her Mom and Dad.  Dad was going to get some supplies so she jumped in the truck with him and annoced "Daddy I get my hair cute!'  He asked "really"  She responded, "Yes, just like my nani!"

Yesturday I had my 3rd chemo.  She called to see how I was feeling and I guess she didn't like how my voice sounded.  She sang me a few songs but was not satified. When we said goodbye her mom said she was pouting and in deep thought.  She asked her what was wrong and Ali said "my Nani is crying"  Well of course they called me right back and I assured her I was not.  She insisted she needed to bring me flowers.  Isn't she a doll baby.  She brightens everyday!

Sunshine on a cloudy day is what I call mine.  She's my granddaughter and she is 12 yrs old.  She has been close to me throughout my breast cancer journey.  She will call me at least several times a week and has been staying overnight almost every weekend.  I look forward to her chats because now we talk about lots of things and she shares stories about school and boys and what clothes she likes.  We shop together and it is a joy and people around us used to laugh at us how we interact together.  She will show me something for me and I will show her a piece of clothing for her.  It is hilarious sometimes but I really enjoy these times together and the best is she does not want me to spend alot of money and will say so in the store.  She will say Grandma that is too much money and you can't buy it.  She is good with money and likes to save it for a special purchase.  She is the best thing that ever happened to me.  We are truly blessed, aren't we?
