Update on my mother...thank you

  •

First of all, thank you to all who responded to my posts in my time of dispair.

November 4th will be with me always...the day I learned my Mother has stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer.  The good news is her brain scan done on Monday, November 10th was negative for cancer.

Mom had her first round of chemo on the 10th also.  She was ill for a few days (as expected as she had chemo in 2004).  Yesterday was first round of radiation and although she was in severe pain laying there for the radiation, today she has only needed one pain pill.  She sounded so strong on the phone tonight.  Her appetite has picked up a little too.  I am hopeful that the radiation will help even more with her pain and the chemo won't zap too much out of her.

I know this is the final battle of her life, but I feel we have some more time than first anticipated...for that I am eternally grateful.

I just wanted to thank you all---you know who you are...

I understand what you are going through.  My mother was diagnosis for the second time around end of 2000 or beginning of 2001 as stage 4.  This was shortly after my husband and I got married.  She lost her battle May 14th, 2006 mother's day.  She was 50 years old.  It was hard seeing her go through it but I know now that she is no longer in pain and is at peace and I will see her again soon.

We do feel blessed that she got to see 8 of her grandchildren before passing away.  She got to witness my 1st child being born because she took me to the hospital.  We thought I was having kidney problems and my mom told my husband to just get some sleep and she would take me in.  Turned out we were wrong and I was 9 cm dilated.  He missed our daughters birth but my mom got to witness it.

So, make some good memories and just love, love each other and don't give up faith.  We never know when the good Lord is going to give us miracles.  Sorry that I am going on like this but I would like to share my story (I myself have recently been diagnosis with breast cancer).  If you go to Share your story and click on Recently been diagnosis with breast cancer you can read it.  It just shows how God does look out for us and for us to never lose faith and trust in him.

I pray that God keeps his arms around you, your mother and family and gives you the support and love you need during this time.
