What it Takes to be a Winner

One of the most popular TV shows, Deal or No Deal, is not only a game of chance at winning $1,000,000, but also a study in human behavior. On February 13^th, Katie Henslin, from Forest Lake, Minnesota, walked away with $449,000 and exemplified what it takes to be a winner.

During the month of March, we are going to explore the qualities of a winner. Let's take a look at Katie and see why she has a winning spirit.

We are finishing a three-part approach to getting organized. Marilyn Paul, Ph.D. from Yale University, makes these three points in her book, It's Hard to Make a Difference When You Can't Find Your Keys. Laugh if you will, she has dissected "getting organized" and put it back together.

Last week we talked about the difficulty of getting organized. Even for those who find it more natural, it can be tedious and time consuming. Look back at my blog,

Marilyn Paul, Ph.D. from Yale University and M.B.A. from The Johnson School at Cornell, gives these three structured steps on organization in her book, It's Hard to Make a Difference When You Can't Find Your Keys:

Getting organized is one of the most underrated and misunderstood action steps in getting things done. We try to skip that step and go straight to diving into projects. Meeting John Travolta

The setting was the 2008 John Travolta Saturday Night Spectacular, a Super Bowl fundraiser party for National Breast Cancer Foundation and Marshall Faulk Foundation.

The streets were lined with Super Bowl fans searching for places to eat, drink, and be entertained. Inside the Scottsdale Galleria Corporate Centre, a multi-level 60,000 square-foot atrium-like building, 1,300 fans were packed in to see their favorite stars and light up the pre-game evening with the music of REO Speedwagon.

There was a frenzy of enthusiasm as people inside waited for John Travolta to walk the red carpet. In the last few minutes before he appeared, I was introduced by Mark Steines, co-host of Entertainment Tonight, to take the stage and greet an enthusiastic crowd as I told them about NBCF and our work to help save lives across America.
